City officials say they will establish a formal policy to be sure that trees are protected from harm in any city construction project. The administration of Mayor Dwight C. Jones also intends to review the mayor’s goal of planting 2,000 trees in public spaces this year to ensure that enough money is budgeted to water and care for the young trees.
